Nearly 70% of all construction jobs that require silt fence do not specify the type of fence that must be used. Save money by using EROSION CONTROL’S superior quality non-spec contractors grade silt fence:

· Economical 36" or 24" width silt fabrics (MISF 180)

· 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" (Nominal) hardwood stakes

· Stakes spaced every 10' (10' centers)

· 11 stakes per 100' fabric. If you’re stocking a fence with specs other than these for non-spec jobs, your probably paying too much!

Easy Silt Fence Installation Tip

Silt fence is more durable and resistant to wind damage if each post is twisted 180° during installation. This wraps each post with silt fence fabric on both sides, reducing the likelihood of the fabric tearing away from the post in a high wind situation.

Silt Fence Fabrics
EROSION CONTROL offers a wide variety of high quality woven geo-textile silt fence fabrics in easily manageable 300’ rolls or economical bulk rolls. Choose from a variety of styles and specifications to meet your needs. Our 180, 1855, 901 and 1776 meet or exceed most state DOT required specifications. Also, our more economical 180 and 150 will also meet some DOT required specifications. 180 is also available in Orange (1845) and Green (1838). All of these silt materials are also suitable for some stabilization applications as well as a weed barrier for landscaping.

D.O.T. Spec Silt Fence
Our product is currently approved or certified by many state D.O.T.’s and we can manufacture D.O.T. silt fence to meet any requirement. D.O.T. specifications vary by state and will consist of any of the following requirements.

· Specified higher quality fabrics in 24", 30", 36", 42" widths

· Specified stake sizes 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" (nominal) 2" x 2" (nominal) etc.

· Specified stake spacing 10', 8', 7', 6', 4' centers

· Mesh backing – some D.O.T. specs require mesh backing

EROSION CONTROL’S pre-pocketed silt fence provides the highest amount of durability under the harshest weather conditions. With its unique pre-pocketed design, each stake is completely surrounded by silt fence material. This eliminates wind tear away that often occurs in silt fence installations. Our pre-pocketed silt fence is 36" high MISF 180 fabric, with pockets sewn either 6 feet on center or 8 feet on center. It is available as prefabricated fence with stakes attached in 100 feet long rolls or without stakes attached in bulk 500 foot rolls. MISF 3014 Mesh Backing

Our oriented polypropylene mesh is ideal for use on supported silt fence requirements. This incredibly strong yet flexible material is an accepted alternative by many state DOT in place of 14 or 12-1/2 gauge wire backing. Available in 30” x 500’ or 30”x 5000’ rolls.

Our heavy duty steel posts are easy to install and are made of durable 13 gauge steel. They are rust proofed by phosphate etching and feature a green enamel finish. Each post has a stabilizing anchor plate, and comes in 5' and 6' heights.
